Psych Episode Guide

Psych stars James Roday as young crime consultant Shawn Spencer for the Santa Barbara Police Department. His uncanny powers of observation and remarkable detective instincts allow him to convince the SFPD that he solves cases with his psychic abilities.

Shawn was raised in Santa Barbara by his police officer father, Henry Spencer. It was his father, who trained him acute observation and other skills needed to solve crime. Henry was grooming his son to become a detective and join the long line of cops in the family.

However, Shawn soon strayed from his predestined path and spent his youth working various odd jobs.

Just for the fun of it, Shawn makes a habit of calling in tips to the police about cases he caught on the news. One day one of his tips appear too close to the truth, and Shawn gets arrested as a murder accomplice.

Using his corky charm and theatrical talent, Shawn convinces the police that he's actually a psychic. As a result Shawn gets hired as the "Head Psychic” to help solve tough cases.

Shawn soon brings his childhood friend Gus into his scheme, and they open a PI agency called Psych. Between their never ending bantering they manage to solve every case they're presented with.
