And then there is Emily Lightman. She is Cal’s teenage daughter who splits her time between her divorced parents. Lightman is very protective of Emily, though she sometimes becomes involved in his cases. Dr. Foster works for a co-creator of a social network software who thinks one of her partners is trying to oust the woman's. However, the client soon appears dead, and Lightman tries to prove that her partner is responsible.
